Documents, Drawings & Revision Control

GoalFile documents where they belong, keep drawings current, and let the system prove who has the latest set.
Documents — Vault and File Cabinet
New Document takes a title, category (Contract, Drawing, Specification, Permit, Warranty, Close-out, and more), date, an optional project assignment, and the file itself. Every document lives in one of two scopes: the Project Vault (contracts, insurance, signed amendments — audit-logged, lockable) or the File Cabinet (active execution and correspondence). A project's Files tab shows the whole tree, including per-participant folders.
Drawings — revisions with teeth
- Upload drawings by discipline — Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Shop Drawing — with set and phase.
- When the architect issues a change, use New Revision on the drawing. The old rev stays on file; the new one becomes current.
- Downloads are stamped — every download counts as an acknowledgment, so you can see who pulled which revision when.
- Field copies carry a QR check: scanning an old sheet shows SUPERSEDED — you scanned Rev 2, but Rev 4 is current with a download-current button.
Revising a drawing that's linked to an approved submittal automatically flags that approval as possibly stale — the next session shows that safety net from the submittal side.
