The Inbox & the Activity Log
Inbox — what's open across your projects
The Inbox (on the rail, above the buckets) gathers three things that need action: Submittals (with a lens toggle between Out for review and With us), Change Orders awaiting decision, and Open punch items (with an All / Mine lens). Counters at the top show totals; each section links to its full list page.
Activity Log — the memory of the company
Everything done in Tempus 7 posts to the Activity Log automatically — bids created and moved, change orders, RFIs answered, submittals responded to, meetings and tasks completed. Rows are marked System or Logged so you always know which is which.
You can also log touches manually. On the Activity Log page, six quick-add buttons — Phone, Email, Meeting, Bid, Site Visit, Note — open the Log Activity form. Pick the customer, describe what happened, and save.
Try it yourself
- Open the Inbox and switch the submittal lens between Out for review and With us.
- Log a phone call from the Activity Log page using the Phone quick-add button.
Key takeaways
- The Inbox is scoped to action: submittals, change-order decisions, and punch items.
- The Activity Log captures system events automatically; calls and emails you log manually.
- Manual activity entries attach to a customer — that builds the relationship history.
