Dispatch & the Project Schedule
Dispatch — the day board
Dispatch is one day at a time: a lane per technician, jobs dragged and resized on the hours, shift hours shaded, and statuses that move Scheduled → En route → On site → Completed. Each tech works their own My day page. The Print button produces the day sheet for the wall.
Schedule — the job's timeline
Every project has a Schedule with two tabs. The timeline is a working Gantt: drag tasks to move them, and finish-to-start dependencies cascade downstream dates when something slips. The milestones tab tracks the commitments — target vs actual, with overdue flags.
The Lookahead PDF prints the coming weeks as the field-ready handout — the thing that actually gets pinned in the trailer.
Try it yourself
- Schedule two jobs for one tech tomorrow and print the day sheet.
- Drag a Gantt task a week right and watch dependents cascade.
- Generate the lookahead PDF for one project.
Key takeaways
- Dispatch runs techs by the day; Schedule runs the job by the week.
- Dependencies cascade — slipping one task moves what depends on it.
- The lookahead PDF is the deliverable the field actually uses.
