The Daily Communication Log
The Daily Communication Log (under Operations, or from any project) is the day's official record: site conditions and weather, crew on site (projected automatically from time cards), work highlights, phone and email log, visitors, inspections, deliveries, safety incidents — and photos, dragged straight onto the log.
Send for the day saves and locks the log as the official record. Locked doesn't mean frozen: Edit (amendment) records any later change as a formal amendment — who, when, and the exact before-and-after — shown in its own color. That audit trail is the point: an unlocked diary proves nothing.
Visibility is per-field. Most conditions are public to project participants; visitors and safety incidents default to Internal only, and an Eyes only tier exists for the sensitive stuff. The Viewing as switcher shows exactly what an outside participant sees before they see it.
Try it yourself
- Create today's log with weather and one highlight, then Send for the day.
- Make an amendment on a locked log and find it under Later Edits.
- Flip the Viewing as switcher and note what an outsider can't see.
Key takeaways
- Lock daily — amendments keep the record honest without freezing it.
- Field-level visibility: public, internal, eyes-only. Preview with Viewing as.
- Crew hours flow in from time cards; photos attach directly to the day.
